The objectives on which our Association was established and as per our Constitution are:
To consider and promote the welfare and interests of property owners involved in the business of leasing real estate in Western Australia.
To effectively and beneficially liaise with government at national, state and local levels.
To present the Association to the public and tenants of Western Australia and to assist the same to understand the aims and objectives of the Association.
Formed in May 1985 following fears of new tenancy law reform legislation being introduced into Parliament.
Successfully lobbied Members of Parliament and presented a submission to the Minister of Consumer Affairs objecting to the Working Party's recommendations. Following various meetings with Parliamentary Ministers the legislation due to go before Parliament in December 1985 was halted.
One of our members was officially invited on the new committee to represent the Landlords. Previously property owners have had little say in government decision-making but now we have a strong Association we too can contribute our thoughts and ideas to foster good tenant relations and protect our investment.
We have an Executive Committee consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and four ordinary members. We also print a quarterly newsletter.
This Website was established on May 12, 1999 to assist it's members.
